Senior Associate | Valuation Services

Job Summary:

Scalar Partners is seeking a business valuation specialist with accounting and financial modeling experience. The Associate position will be responsible for performing business valuations for both public and private companies. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of applicable work experience.

Essential Job Functions:

Perform valuations for financial reporting and tax compliance purposes
- Purchase Price Allocations – ASC 805
- Goodwill Impairment Analysis – ASC 350
- IRC 409A
- Derivative Valuations – ASC 815
- Fairness Opinions
- Solvency Opinions
Interact with clients, auditors, legal counsel, and institutional investors to complete valuation engagements in a timely, professional, and efficient manner
Effectively manage multiple valuation engagements from start to finish, including due diligence/management interviews, financial modeling, and report creation/review

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics
A minimum of 2 years of applicable work experience, preferably in accounting, management consulting or investment banking
Highly self-motivated and able to maintain a high degree of autonomy while also contributing to a dynamic team environment
Ability to independently learn and solve complex, ambiguous problems with minimal supervision
Knowledge of the standard valuation methodologies including the income approach, market approach and cost approach
Proficiency in financial modeling and Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with Capital IQ and/or other financial database services a plus, but not required
AVA, ASA, CVA or CFA a plus, but not required
